Impact/Purpose:

The purpose of this presentation is to highlight work associated with EPANET and other EPA water distribution modeling tools (MSX, WNTR) to provide real-world uses of these tools for students in Notre Dame's Design Tools course. These slides point to recent research work associated with water distribution network modeling, and provide references to that work. The presentation will focus on highlighting this work, and address questions from students associated with their coursework.

Description:

EPANET, EPANET-MSX and the Water Network Tool for Resilience (WNTR) are powerful modeling tools for water distribution system modeling. This presentation highlights a range of work associated with these tools to provide real-world examples of how EPANET and associated tools are used to model real problems and the associated research that goes on to improve the tools. The presentation highlights a series of past research projects and will discuss some of the practical challenges and implications of that work.
